Each grain of rice was not sticking together and when I scooped the rice, it was just felt right. They got it, I found the wok hei fried rice! However there was a problem. It was very bland. Other than the bland flavor, it was a pretty superb fried rice. Add your own seasoning because the only thing missing was the taste. ”

“ This is our first time in CA and we wanted some authentic Chinese food in the original China town in America. Food portions were huge and at a great price. This little hole in the wall happily surprised us. It's really plain and unexciting but the food was good and it's not overrated like the surrounding restaurants. It needs some cleaning as it seems very outdated and old. But if you want a simple meal, come here. Service was normal and met my expectations. I have no complaints about it. ”

“ Underground restaurant in Chinatown. This restaurant has been around for a while. To get in, you need to go down from street level. Inside is typical chinese restaurant. It has plenty of tables. Looks like mostly local eat here. The menu is overwhelming. Many to be chosen from. Price is reasonable. We order braised beef claypot, stir fry chinese cauliflower, and bedf chow fun. All came up quickly, and the portion is generous. The food tasted good. This place accepts credit cards. Will come back again. ”

“ While in Chinatown today, we picked his spot at random and were intrigued by the stairway leading to this subterranean gem of traditional Chinese cuisine. Down we went into the dim underbelly of the city where we were warmly greeted and seated by a sweet lady. The menus could definitely use a serious wipe down, but we quickly picked the special house platter of appetizers, the egg rolls were the table favorite, but the Chinese pork and fried shrimp were also awesome. The vibe is original and old school , would definitely hit this spot again. ”

“ Been trying coming here for over fifty years. Chef Hung's signature dish for years had been their braised ox tail with stick bean curd. Sorry but I was so looking forward to this dish, I nearly forgot to get a picture of the dish except for the last bite. The vegetable dish was a stir fried baby bok choy and also a Chinese cauliflower with some wood ear fungus and the other dish was a special dish that needs to be preordered at least a hour ahead because the process of washing the rice immediately prior to cooking is a crucial step in making this clay pot dish, the rice cannot be prewashed because that will give you a mushy consistency in the finished product, the wax duck and Chinese sausage oils is important in the cooking process to making a proper crust in the bottom of the pot. There are so many great restaurants in the San Francisco area, that's why it took me so long to finally visit this restaurant. This is one of many hole in the wall restaurants that I grew up with in San Francisco Chinatown.. ”

“ Just walked into here in a Sunday afternoon looking for a quick bite. We shared a cha siu fried rice, bok choy, and cha siu wonton soup (this doesn't come with noodles, just soup, wonton, meat, and some veggies) between two of us. Not too bad, but nothing too special. They do speak broken English here, so not too hard to communicate with the staff. Pretty quiet, not too crowded and food came out really fast. ”
